Dr Per Svensen

My name is Per Svensson. I am a Medical advisor for the team of therapists at the Warwickshire and Worcestershire Counselling Service. I have had a licence to practice medicine in Sweden and Norway since 1997.

During my medical studies at The Karolinska Hospital in Stockholm, I also studied practical philosophy at Stockholm University and I have a special interest in medical ethics. I have pursued philosophical and ethical studies alongside  my work as a doctor and I received a Masters degree in bioethics and medical ethics in 2004 from The Catholic University of Loeven, in Belgium.  I also have a diploma from The Berne Institute in the UK in Transactional Analysis Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I have worked as a consultant anaesthesiologist from 2002 – 2007 in both Sweden and Norway in addition to also working as a general practicioner in several Primary Healthcare Centres. Currently I am working in psychiatry and also as a psychotherapist in Transactional Analysis .
